Instructional Hours (M/T/Th/F): 7:40 AM-2:40 PM
Early Release Wednesdays: 7:40 AM-1:25 PM
Class schedules will be available in Skyward Family Access beginning on August 8. Please be aware that the counselors may need to continue to adjust schedules in order to balance our classes between now and the start of the school year. If a student has a question about their fall schedule, they must contact their counselor between August 9-15 to make any change requests. The guidance office will be open from 8:30 AM-3 PM weekdays starting August 9th. You may also send an email to your child’s guidance counselor (Mrs. Jones, Mrs. Krzyzanski, or Ms. Youssef) to request a change or call them at 517-279-5932. Please be aware that we do not change a student’s schedule to simply change a particular hour of a certain class unless it is needed to balance our classes.
The CHS Open House is scheduled for Wednesday, August 17th from 5-6:30 PM. The Open House is a time for parents and students to come find their classrooms, visit their teachers, and try out their lockers. Students and parents will be able to access the 2022-23 student schedules through Skyward, and a hard copy will be available if needed in the Auxiliary Gym at CHS that evening. Maps of the school will also be available in the main lobby as well as a table to speak with Chartwells Food Service and the Transportation Department if needed.
The first day of school this year is Monday, August 22nd. This year, we are making a change to our first day schedule in order to help create a fantastic start for our incoming freshmen students. On the first day of school:
The listing below is a general suggestion for the supplies and materials that students should have in order to be prepared for the classes they are taking at CHS, regardless of the grade level they are in. In some curricular areas, specific classes (bold) may have an additional listing.
If a binder, folder, or notebook is listed, the student will want those materials for that particular class. That means that a student may need to have one for each class listed. Also, please notice that the calculators needed for math classes are the same ones used in the science classes.
Over the years, there has been a tradition of excellence at CHS in academics, athletics, music, clubs, and all other aspects of student life. It is now your turn to take advantage of these opportunities, become engaged in your learning, and challenge yourself to succeed. Students who participate in school related extra-curricular activities are more likely to be successful than those who do not. Students who choose to come to school regularly, fulfill class requirements, behave responsibly, and participate in class will also perform better academically.
Along with challenging yourself to develop your academic, artistic, and athletic skills, aptitudes, and abilities, we also challenge every member of the Coldwater High School community to treat each other with respect and dignity every day. Building supportive and respectful relationships with one another is an important part of creating a safe, secure, and enjoyable school environment.
We all at CHS are looking forward to helping you challenge yourself and watching you reach your goals. If you encounter difficulties, seek out the help of any adult in the building and we will help you. We welcome the opportunity to help you prepare for your future as you proceed through your high school career.
With "Cardinal" pride,
Mr. Bill Milnes, Principal
Mrs. Krista Searls, Assistant Principal
