  • The Latest from the MHSAA and Coldwater Athletics

The Michigan High School Athletic Association has released clarifications pertaining to interscholastic athletics following the issuance of Executive Orders 2020-153, 2020-175, 2020-176, and 2020-180 by the Governor's Office. These clarifications address spectator limits and face coverings, among other subjects. Read the clarifications here...

As a reminder, Branch County is currently in Phase 4 of the MI Safe Start Plan; therefore, spectators are limited to only two per participant.

  • COVID-19 Considerations

The health and safety of our students is something Coldwater Community Schools takes very seriously. With Health and Safety being one of our pillars, if a student-athlete has come in close contact (6 feet or closer for more than 15 minutes) with a person that tested positive for COVID-19, has had symptoms of COVID-19, or if that other person has been quarantined, the student-athlete will need to quarantine themselves for 14 days and will not be allowed on school property. Before they can return to practice, the student-athlete will need to bring proof of a negative COVID-19 test. This test will need to be dated no earlier than 3 days prior to their return. We want to make sure everyone that is involved with the Coldwater Community Schools is safe.

  • Sports Physical Requirement Waived in 2020-21

For the 2020-21 school year, the MHSAA pre-participation athletic sports physical requirement will be waived for students in any grade who received a valid physical for athletics during the 2019-20 school year (one completed on or after April 15, 2019). These students and their parents will be required the two-page MHSAA ANNUAL SPORTS HEALTH QUESTIONAIRE, which is also included in Final Forms.

Registration on Final Forms for the 2020-21 school year is now open. Final Forms saves data from season to season and year to year, meaning that you will never need to enter the same information twice! You will review your information once per school year to verify that your information is current and sign the forms. Final Forms is requred for all student-athletes in 6th through 12th Grades (link goes to our Introduction to Final Forms page).
